Welcome to the Barrington Public Schools!

Mission Statement
Barrington Public Schools will collaboratively inspire, challenge and support all students to become lifelong learners, empowered with the knowledge and skills to contribute to society and realize their full potential.
The H1N1 vaccination will be available for all adults wishing to receive it on February 9th at the high school from 4 – 8 p.m. If you have addition questions you can reach HEALTH by email at H1N1@health,ri.gov or by calling HEALTH’s H1N1 Information Line (401-222-8022).
Because of continuing uncertainty regarding state funding, the Barrington School Committee has modified the schedule for its consideration of the school budget this year. The change is aimed at providing the school administration additional time so that the numbers on which the budget will be based are as firm as possible before the budget is sent to the Committee on Appropriations.
The School Committee also has added an additional school committee meeting on Tuesday, February 23 to provide additional opportunities for input from members of the public. The new schedule of school committee meetings for February is as follows:
- February 11 – Regular Meeting. Presentation to the Committee of the administration’s proposed budget
- February 23 – Special Meeting. Discussion of budget by the Committee; opportunity for public input
- February 25 – Regular Meeting. Final discussion of budget by the Committee; authorize budget to be forwarded to Committee on Appropriations.
Although public participation and input is welcomed at any of the Committee’s meetings, including all three of these, the February 23 meeting will be specifically devoted to that purpose. All of these meetings will take place at 7:30 p.m. on the dates indicated in the School Committee meeting room in the School Administration offices, located in Town Hall at 283 County Road (opposite the front door of the library).
