BMS Welcomes Ms. Slaughter as our new Assistant Principal: I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Ms. Amy Slaughter to our BMS Learning Community. Ms. Slaughter is very excited to join our team as the Assistant Principal. She is looking forward to getting to know all of our students and families. |
Cluster Letters: Over the past several weeks, our BMS summer team has been hard at work finalizing cluster placements. We will be notifying our families and students via email on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 of our cluster placements for the 2023 - 2024 school year. It is important to note that once clusters are assigned we will not be making any changes. |
Student School Supplies: The Barrington Public School Department has purchased school supplies for all of our students. When students arrive at school for the new school year, cluster teachers will be distributing these supplies. There is no “suggested supply list”. We have purchased notebooks, binders, pencils, and all of the other necessities for school, however, if students should want to purchase their own personal preferences such as pencil cases, pencils, pens, highlighters, and locker items, that is perfectly acceptable but not required. |
Summer Learning Assignments: Below you will find a link to our summer learning requirements. Middle school students are asked to participate in summer reading and summer math work. Please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Mary Roberts (ELA/Humanities Curriculum Chair/robertsm@barringtonschools.org) and/or Mr. Jeff Blanchet (Math Curriculum Chair/blanchetj@barringtonschools.org) if you have any questions about these assignments. |
Summer Learning Assignments for Students Entering Algebra I: For those students entering Algebra 1 in the fall it is recommended students complete the following practice problems. |
6th Grade Locker Day: We are excited to announce that we will be having 6th Grade Locker Days for our incoming 6th-grade students. This will be an opportunity to come into school and practice opening their lockers as well as to participate in a self-guided tour/exploration of the building. These events will be from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
|
First Day of School/Transition Day: Our first day of school is scheduled for Monday, August 28, 2023. This day will be a dedicated transition day for all of our students. Cluster and Allied Art teachers will be planning transition day activities. These activities include but are not limited to the creation of a class/cluster Charter, tour of the building, orientation/overview of various subjects, cluster/teaming activities, etc. etc. Note: this is a required school day for all students. There will be lunch periods for all grades. 7th/8th Grade Students: 8:40 am - 12:40 pm (bus transportation to and from school will be provided for eligible students)
