Student Schedules: Thank you for everyone’s patience as we finalized student schedules. We strongly recommend that all students take a look at their schedule (via Aspen) prior to coming to school on Monday as some schedules may have changed. If your child is unable to print/access their schedule, we will have a “pop-up help desk” outside of school counseling on Monday where we can assist them in accessing their schedule. |
First Day of School/Transition Day: Our first day of school is scheduled for Monday, August 28, 2023. This day will be a dedicated transition day for all of our students. Cluster and Allied Art teachers will be planning transition day activities. These activities include but are not limited to the creation of a class/cluster Charter, tour of the building, orientation/overview of various subjects, cluster/teaming activities, etc. Note: this is a required school day for all students. There will be lunch periods for all grades. 7th/8th Grade Students: 8:40 am - 12:40 pm (bus transportation to and from school will be provided for eligible students)
6th Grade Students: 8:40 am - 3:15 pm (bus transportation to and from school will be provided for eligible students)

Student Drop-Off and Arrival: We ask that you please plan accordingly for arriving at school on Monday morning as there is a potential for an increase in traffic. Please note that there is scheduled construction on Lincoln Ave and the sidewalk on Lincoln Ave that is adjacent to the Middle School through the end of September. This means there will be construction vehicles, construction workers, flaggers, and an impassable sidewalk adjacent to the Middle School on Lincoln Ave. Barrington Police Department indicated that there will be a police presence to assist with traffic. Additional Drop-Off Information and Links:

Student Dismissal: Similarly, we ask that you plan accordingly for afternoon dismissal as there is a potential for an increase in traffic. Daily construction is scheduled through the morning hours to 4:00 pm each day. We do ask that prior to Monday your child knows the plan on how they will be getting home from school (bike/walk, car, or bus). If you are picking up your child please review with them where you will be picking them up (behind the building or side of the building). Having a plan beforehand greatly reduces potential stress and anxiety for all parties involved (including the Principal). |
BMS Pride: This year, each week we would like to invite all of our students to join BMS Faculty/Staff in showing BMS pride and school spirit by the following:

~ BMS Spotlight on Learning ~ |
This week, we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on our very own Mrs. Connie Oswald for being recognized by the district as the Barrington Public School Teacher of the Year! Thank you Mrs. Oswald for your dedication and commitment to your students' academic and social/emotional growth. The entire BMS Learning Community is proud of you! This week, we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on our Amazing BMS Summer Team. Throughout the summer months, our summer team works hard on ordering and organizing school materials for our staff and students, cleaning our classrooms and learning spaces, hiring new faculty and staff, building and organizing the calendar for the upcoming school year, and putting together, what often feels like a 5,460-piece puzzle (780 students multiplied by 7 periods a day). BMS would not be ready to go if it were not for the hard work of Amy Skadberg, Lynn Vargas, Becky Trahan, Mark Biancuzzo, Colleen Deluski, John Ferreira, John Barbosa, Joe Pimental, Dave Pimental, Jamie Medeiros, Jamie Poirier, Krystal Sleboda, Steph Nary, and Amy Slaughter. Thank you for all that you do for our learning community! This week, we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on Dr. Chris Keller. Over the summer, Dr. Keller successfully defended his dissertation at Northeastern University! Great work Dr. K! Do you know of a BMS Faculty/Staff/Student member that is shining bright? If you do, please complete the form below and we can include the nomination in an upcoming newsletter. |
