A note from the Student Assistance Counselor: On Wednesday, April 27 during first period, all students will be taking the Rhode Island Student Survey (RISS) which is an online survey administered by the RI Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals (BHDDH) in partnership with the University of Rhode Island. The RISS looks at a set of factors or conditions to which youth may be exposed that are associated with negative behavioral health outcomes and the extent to which youth may report engaging in problem behavior. I recently received the data collected from the RISS which was taken by students in 2020, and will be working with the BMS Morning Show to share some noteworthy statistics, specifically celebrating the fact that MOST middle school students are steering clear of substance use! (YAY!) If you would like more information, or would like your child to meet with me individually, please contact me at rodriguesj@barringtonschools.org. To opt your student out of taking this survey, please complete the form at this link. Jordan Rodrigues MA, R-DMT | ||||||||||
